Bank J.Van Breda & C° is not a Dutch bank, although the name might suggest that. The bank was founded on February 21, 1930 in Lier by the brothers Jos and Maurice Van Breda. So the bank started out as a family business.The activity was soon expanded to insurance. In 1937 a separate company was established for the insurance office J.Van Breda & C°. This company developed into one of the largest brokers in Belgium, offering highly targeted advice for companies and organisations. Today this is an independent company, separate from the bank, known as Vanbreda Risk & Benefits.
