Our Singapore branch was opened on March 30, 1957 at South Bridge Road with 14 staff. However, the premises soon proved too small for the expanding business and in September 1961 the branch relocated to New Bridge Road. With further rapid growth, staff numbers soon passed 100, leading to the decision to construct our own building. Today the branch is a fully licensed commercial bank, licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and governed by the Banking Act.
