AXA Banque is a retail banking subsidiary of AXA Group. It offers savings accounts, personal and mortgage loans, insurance products and other services. It was established in 1994 as Banque Directe and renamed AXA Banque in 2003. From its creation Banque Directe was an online banking subsidiary of BNP Paribas. French insurance company AXA and BNP Paribas announced that they have concluded an agreement for the sale of BNP’s on-line banking subsidiary Banque Directe to AXA. BNP Paribas’s on-line banking operations have over 100,000 customers and approximately 140,000 accounts.
