Storebrand is a financial services company in Norway. By volume, the company's main activities are related to life insurance and pension savings. The company traces its roots back to 1767 when Den almindelige Brand-Forsikrings-Anstalt, later Norges Brannkasse, was formed. In 1982 Storebrand merged with its competitor, insurance company Norden, to form the Storebrand-Norden group. The company changed its name to AS Storebrand in 1986.

Voss Veksel- og Landmandsbank (OSE: VVL) or Vekselbanken is a Norwegian commercial bank located in Voss, Hordaland. It is the only remaining independent commercial bank that had not merged into DnB NOR, Nordea, Fokus Bank or a sparebank. The bank is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and was founded in 1899 to provide services to the labourers working on building the Bergen Line through Voss.

Danish author and fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875) is one of our first customers. When Sparekassen for Kjøbenhavn og Omegn opens in 1820, saving money in a bank is a new phenomenon; the few banks that exist in the Nordic countries during this time are not intended to be used by ordinary people. That changes when savings campaigns spread across Europe, inspired by ideas concerning combating poverty through diligence and thrift following the Age of Enlightenment. H.C. Andersen, who was born poor, also begins saving. When he dies in 1875, he has the equivalent of several million kroner in the bank.

In 1999 it merged with Banco Central Hispano, which had in turn been formed through the 1991 merger of Banco Central and Banco Hispanoamericano. Sbanken ASA is a Norwegian online bank headquartered in Bergen.The bank was founded by Skandia as a branch of its existing bank in Sweden, Skandiabanken, on April 27, 2000 and became the first online-only bank in Norway. Skandiabanken Norway was separated from Skandiabanken Sweden and further Skandia group in 2015, becoming its own company Skandiabanken ASA, and was consequently renamed Sbanken ASA on November 6, 2017.
